Why Virtual Training?
I’ve offered virtual personal training since 2013 as an effective way to supplement in person training to keep clients progressing while traveling or for when they move outside of the Bay Area. With the closing of gyms in 2020 due to the pandemic I transitioned 100% of my clients to virtual training. Initially this was a temporary move to “make do” during sheltering-in-place. But together we learned there are many benefits to virtual training that can make it more effective for their goals than traditional in person training.
While I do offer in person training in the Bay Area, today the majority of my clients continue to prefer virtual training. Some train only virtually. Some choose a blend of in person and virtual. And many choose to take advantage of my on-demand workouts to supplement our training. This hybrid model allows my clients to more successfully integrate fitness into their busy lives in the most cost effective, efficient and safe way. And whether training virtually or in person, nutrition coaching is always included if needed.
In addition to being a Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) through the National Academy of Sports Medicine, I am also a Virtual Coaching Specialist (VCS) and hold over a dozen industry-leading certifications in areas of movement, nutrition and regeneration coaching. I do not believe in a cookie cutter approach. Every client’s program is unique and customized.
Is Virtual Training Effective?
I’m fortunate to train a full roster of virtual clients across the world. The JJFit family stretches beyond the Bay Area and allows me to work with clients in Southern California, Oregon, Texas, Colorado, North Carolina, Virginia, Montana, New York, Connecticut, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Hong Kong, Alaska and even Austria.
In a recent anonymous online satisfaction survey 100% of my virtual training clients responded. Clients were a mix of "legacy" clients (who pre-COVID trained with me in person) and new clients (who have only trained with me virtually). When asked how likely they were to recommend training with me to a friend or colleague (1-10) 100% said 9/10 or 10/10. Anyone familiar with this "Net Promoter" metric knows that's a compelling testament to the quality of virtual training.
I asked several of my clients “What’s it like training virtually with JJ?” Listen to what they had to say and read more client testimonials below.
How Does Virtual Training Work?
Just like training with me in person in the gym, every virtual training session will be unique and customized to you based on your goals, injuries and needs.
If you are a new client our first session will involve an assessment where I’ll analyze how you move, understand your goals, review your health history, review your nutrition habits and help you set up a workout area and find/order any equipment we’ll need.
I will FaceTime you or set up a Google Meet link for our session from my professional studio gym and will be set up to demo all your movements. It will be almost like an in person training session.
We’ll set a weekly schedule of workouts between 6am-4pm. I do not work evenings or weekends.
Sessions will last 50-55 minutes.
I will provide you homework to do between sessions as needed.
I accept Venmo, PayPal or Zelle.
If you’re interested email me at JJ@JJ-fit.com for rates, schedule and other questions.
